Policies and Procedures
As a service provider it is vital that we maintain certain standards of care and follow set procedures to ensure safety. The policies are clearly written to enable practitioners and parents to understand their purpose, and procedures can easily be followed in order to protect the safety and well-being for all.
We know how important it is for all families using our service to be fully informed of the processes that are in place.
If you have any questions regarding them, please contact management.

What happens when my child is poorly?
At Sunshine our practitioners are trained to identify and treat children/babies who become unwell whilst at nursery. First Aid trained staff follow our policies and procedures to ensure children are monitored and the appropriate treatment given. All accidents to the body which leave marks or have caused distress are recorded in the 'accident book' and parents notified upon arrival. If a child has a serious accident, or staff are concerned for the welfare of the child, parents will be telephoned immediately. Your child will be looked after, kept safe and cared for, until a nominated adult arrives for collection.
Children/babies displaying high temperatures (above 37.5C) are monitored and parents contacted to collect (please see our procedure below) we are unable to keep ANY child who has a high temperature, as the risk of further illness or febrile convulsions is too great. We WILL NOT administer Calpol. Children who are poorly or have temperatures should remain at home to recover before returning to nursery.
